Travel Vaccinations
When travelling outside of Canada, vaccinations can protect you from illness. We recommend you consult a health care provider or visit a travel health clinic six weeks before you travel. Here you can get the best and latest advice on any trip-related health concerns you might have and assess your vaccination needs based on where you are travelling, your age, planned travel activities and local conditions.
You can find more details on the Government of Canada website.
Travel Documents
Travel to other countries can be complicated and sometimes requires many different kinds of documents.
Passports
A passport is the only universally accepted travel identification document and proves that you have the right to return to Canada. Processing times for passport applications vary, but it is recommended that you begin the process as soon as you know you will be travelling.

All countries have their own entry requirements, with many countries requiring your passport be valid for at least six months after you travel. Read the travel advisories here to view the entry and exit requirements of each country. You may also check with the Government of Canada office of the country you visit.
Visas
Entry to some countries will require permission in the form of a visa. Visas are issued by foreign government offices in Canada. Applications can be submitted electronically on your own, or you can use the services of CIBTvisas.
Consent Letter for Children Travelling Abroad
We strongly recommend that Canadian children carry a consent letter if they are travelling alone, with only one parent/guardian, with friends/relatives, or with a group. It is recommended that you talk to a lawyer about the legal issues that might apply to you and your children’s unique situation, particularly if your parenting arrangement has special terms governing international travel.
For additional information, see the Government of Canada’s Travel Advice and Advisories or contact the nearest embassy or consulate of the destination you are travelling to.
International Driving Permit
An International Driving Permit (IDP) allows licensed motorists to drive in other countries. You may be required to have a valid IDP to drive in some countries and some foreign car rental agencies may require you to have one to rent a car. Contact CAA to apply for an IDP.
Other Tips
Baggage Policies
On most of our group tours, the airlines we work with allow for one checked bag. Where possible, your luggage will also be portered from your coach to your hotel. You are responsible for your own carry on and we highly recommend that you keep that with you at all times. Please ensure bags are within size and weight requirements to avoid issues at the airport.
Cell Phone / WiFi
There are many options when travelling with your cell phone or tablet. WiFi should be available at all hotels. We also suggest you call your service provider to find out more about potential roaming charges and international options. You may also consider internet voice calls, what’s app, and other internet based communication options.
